Q:

What is Alabama Insurance Alliance?

A:

AIA is a Master Agency affilliated with the Strategic Independent Agency Alliance (SIAA). It was formed in 1999 by Aronov Insurance in Montgomery, Alabama.

Q:

 Who is SIAA?

A:

SIAA is a national insurance alliance comprised of Master Agencies throughout the country.  These Master Agencies recruit and support Independent Strategic Member agencies (ISM) within their market area.  AIA is a Master Agency of SIAA

Q:

What are the responsibilities of the Master Agency?

A:

After recruiting the ISM, the Master Agency makes available its appointments to participating major carriers.  It also provides support and mentoring for the Strategic Independent member in all areas of agency development.

Q:

What major carriers are available though AIA?

A:

Major carriers presently participating include, Hartford, Safeco, Travelers, Zurich, Ohio Casualty, MetLife and more.  A complete list of available markets, products, and services is available and located under Market Coverage.

Q:

Why was AIA created and affiliated with the SIAA?

A:

AIA was created to help the independent agency achieve the appointments and clout that have become necessary for their survival.  This alliance provides that clout through the aggregating of premium volume for profit sharing, growth bonuses, and network incentive programs, as well as providing a built-in "mentorship" for the smaller agency to help in keeping up with the changing technology within the insurance industry.

Q:

Do joining agencies have to give up their established identity as an independent agency?

A:

No.  AIA Members are each independent agencies, individually owned and operated.  AIA is not a franchise.  You do not become part of the Master Agency, but rather a strategic partner with the purpose of growing and perpetuating your agency.

Q:

For member agencies who services the client after the sale?

A:

Member agencies service their own clients.  By retaining all contact with the client, members will strengthen the relationship.

Q:

Is there a fee to join AIA?

A:

There are fees associated with membership.  There is an initial admission fee and there is revenue sharing based on the business placed through AIA by the joint venture partnership of the Independent Agent and AIA.

Q:

How do I join AIA?

A:

There are several ways to express interest in becoming a member:
